About

Jane Cooke’s Jazz started ‘cooking’ in a jazz quintet and the formation of a duo with Rob seemed a natural, flexible progression – then the pair started joining forces with awesome local drum and bass talent. Jane’s first true music love is jazz, although she’s classically trained and has performed as a mezzo soprano in classical and choral concerts – from the Queen Elizabeth Hall to Sydney Opera House. She started singing jazz and other genres in London (top venues include The Savoy, Hyde Park Hotel, Mezzo in Soho, The Wardorf BAFTA Award), the Royal Society of Arts and Claridges). Since moving south, she sings in Jane Cooke’s Jazz and fronts function bands, including The Dance Effect, which the duo sometimes perform with at functions. Jazz best suits Jane’s voice and allows her more of a free-reign to make a real connection with audience.
