About

Jane Cooke

Jane Cooke’s Jazz started ‘cooking’ in a jazz quintet and the duo with Rob seemed a natural, flexible progression – then the pair started joining forces with awesome local drum and bass talent and Jon Scott, with whom Jane has sung on numerous occasions. Jane is classically trained and has performed as a mezzo soprano in concerts from the Queen Elizabeth Hall to Sydney Opera House. She started singing jazz (her favourite) and other genres in London (top venues include The Savoy, The Hyde Park Hotel, The RSA and Claridges with a residency in Mezzo, Soho). Since moving south, she sings in Jane Cooke’s Jazz and fronts function bands, including The Dance Effect, which the duo sometimes performs with.
